STRONGMINDS

StrongMinds is a social enterprise in East Africa that is tackling the silent epidemic of depression, which affects over 66 million women on the continent. The organization uses a unique method to treat depression, letting women share out their issues in a group setting, which in turn helps them open up more about their affliction and brainstorm ways they can rebuild their lives.

During a collaboration with StrongMinds, I was asked to capture the daily lives of current and former patients and their treatments for depression, which were used in the organization's various development communications and social media. Our goal was to dispel stigmas around mental health and show how these women are fighting to take back control their lives and thrive.
